ARKA gallery is one of the four art galleries in Vilnius, founded by the Lithuanian Artist‘s Association. It was opened in 1990 and is centrally located in the old town of Vilnius, in the architectural ensemble of a XVI Basilian convent. The gallery is one of the largest in Vilnius – 6 exhibition halls contain nearly 500 m2 of exhibition space.
ARKA gallery is working in the field of contemporary art and cultural exchange projects, as well as organizing solo, group, thematic and survey exhibitions. It does not prioritize any stylistic trend, views or age groups. The only criterion for the selection of works is high artistic standard. During the year ARKA gallery arranges around 40 exhibitions and is cooperating with Lithuanian and foreign artists, galleries, art museums and cultural institutions. Alongside the art exhibitions ARKA organizes various presentations, concerts, book launches and also leases spaces for conferences, seminars, auctions, public ventures and parties.
ARKA gallery publishes catalogues, posters and leaflets, promotes the sale of art works and disseminates information about Lithuanian art and artists.
